Bosowa’s shares portion in Bank KB Bukopin shrinks to 8.55%

05 August 2021 06:08

JAKARTA. PT Bosowa Corpindo has gradually diminished its shares portion in PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk (BBKP), now arriving at 8.55%. This reduction is intended to comply with the decision of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the peace agreement with KB Kookmin.

Bosowa’s ownership percentage in KB Bukopin reached 8.55% in July, declining further from 8.84% recorded by the end of June 2021. Meanwhile, in April 2021, its portion was still at 9.7%.

The Deputy Commissioner of Banking III of OJK, Slamet Edy Purnomo, confirms that the diminishing portion of Bosowa in BBKP aligns with the Board of Commissioners of OJK’s Decision Letter No.64/KDK.02/2020 issued on August 24, 2020. It stated that Bosowa did not pass the qualification as KB Bukopin’s shares controller.

OJK then ordered Bosowa to transfer its entire portion of shares within one year since the decision had been finalised. Since then, Bosowa had reconciled with Kookmin Bank by signing a joint agreement back in June, as Purnomo verifies.

The shareholder data in June 2021 recorded that Bosowa still owned 8.84% of shares, equal to 2.88 billion units. The majority of BBKP’s shares, of 67% or 21.89 billion units, are under Kookmin, while the rest of the portion is distributed among public investors. (AM/ZH)
