KINO sees decline in domestic sales

JAKARTA – The sales of PT Kino Indonesia Tbk (KINO), the body care products manufacturer, are declining 12.52% in the first half of 2021 compared to the number reported in the same period last year. This deficit then forces its entire revenue to drop by 11.81%.

In the Financial Report H1 2021, quoted today (9/8), President Director of Kino Indonesia, Harry Sanusi, reveals that the total revenue has reached IDR 1.93 trillion from IDR 2.19 trillion recorded last year. The domestic sales bring in IDR 1.79 trillion, also diminishing from IDR 2.05 trillion, while the export sales add in IDR 139.70 billion, decreasing from IDR 141.90 billion.

In the first half of 2021, the sales are dominated by body care products with IDR 860.91 billion. It is then followed by beverages of IDR 838.72 billion, foods IDR 207.67 billion, and pharmaceutical goods IDR 27.15 billion. In the first half of 2020, body care products sales brought in IDR 1.1 trillion, beverages IDR 846.78 billion, foods IDR 186.27 billion, pharmaceutical goods IDR 45.39 billion, and pet foods IDR 9.02 billion.

The diminishing profit is also detected, reaching IDR 38.62 billion from IDR 117.71 billion. This decline is an effect of the increasing sales costs, reducing the gross profit from IDR 1.90 trillion to IDR 919.46 billion. Meanwhile, its earnings before tax also drop from IDR 150.54 billion to IDR 39.27 billion, caused by higher general and administrative expenses as well as interest expenses. (LK/ZH)
