JAKARTA. The increased nickel price has allowed PT PAM Mineral Tbk (NICL) to record a positive trend in the first half of 2021 after suffering from negative outcomes throughout 2020. This year, NICL manages to attain sales of IDR 148 billion and a profit of IDR 26.3 billion.

In an official announcement released yesterday (24/8), Suhartono, Corporate Secretary of NICL, revealed that current sales have equalled 79% of the total sales reported by the end of 2020 of IDR 148 billion. Therefore, he is confident that the total sales for this year would surpass the number recorded in the fiscal year 2020.

Furthermore, the company also notices a massive upturn in its profit in the first half of 2021. The profit proliferates to IDR 26.3 billion, significantly shifting from IDR 1.8 billion of loss reported in the first half of 2020.

Looking at this performance, Suhartono is optimistic about achieving this year’s sales and profit growth target. It is further supported by the promising prospect in the nickel industry as the global demand for nickel ores continuously increases. It results from the ever-growing electric car battery industry across the world. (AM/ZH)
