Halim Alamsyah enters Board of Commissioners of Bank Danamon

JAKARTA – Halim Alamsyah, former Head of Board of Commissioners of Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (lit. Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan/LPS), had been chosen as the new Independent Commissioner of PT Bank Danamon Tbk (BDMN). This assignment was finalised during the Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting yesterday (26/8).

Quoted from the information disclosure on Friday (27/8), Alamsyah’s appointment as the new member of the Board of Commissioner of Bank Danamon brought the total of commissioners to eight people, four of which are independent commissioners. Prior to Alamsyah’s promotion, the bank had three independent commissioners: Johanes Berchmans Kristiadi Pudjosukanto (also acts as Vice President Commissioner), Peter Benyamin Stok, and Hedy Maria Helena Lapian.

Alamsyah is known to be well-versed in the banking field. He was once a Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) in 2010-2015 and a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in 2012-2015. He earned his economics degree from Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) and law degree from Faculty of Law of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). In addition, he proceeded to attain a master’s degree in Development Economics at Boston University, United States. Lastly, he succeeded in securing a doctoral degree in Monetary Economics at Universitas Indonesia (UI).

Furthermore, the shareholders meeting also approved the renouncement of Michellina Laksmi Triwardhany, Vice President Director of Bank Danamon, effective September 4, 2021, and Adnan Qayum Khan, Director of Bank Danamon, effective July 2021. (LK/ZH)
