ZINC records IDR499.9 billion sales in first half

JAKARTA - PT Kapuas Prima Coal Tbk (ZINC), managed to record a positive performance in the first half of 2021, driven by a continuous trend of strengthening commodity prices. The Company recorded sales of IDR499.9 billion or an increase of 65.9% compared to the same period in the previous year of IDR301.4 billion. Meanwhile, the Company's net income in June 2021 reached IDR89.5 billion or a 118.8% growth from the same period in 2020 which was recorded at IDR40.9 billion.

This achievement is inseparable from the increase in commodity prices and an increased demand for iron ore commodities, as well as base metals, especially for lead and zinc concentrates from various countries. In addition, this achievement is also supported by Company’s commitment to improve production capacity and quality in order to achieve our target.”

As of June 2021, the largest contribution of the Company's sales came from zinc concentrate which reached IDR230.4 billion, an increase of 57.7% from the same period in 2020 of IDR146.0 billion. The next contributor is the sale of silver commodities, recorded at IDR92.5 billion, and lead concentrate with IDR85.9 billion. Meanwhile, during the first half of 2021, the Company received additional sales from iron concentrates amounting to IDR68.4 billion, while sales of ZINC iron ore commodities recorded an increase of 205.8% or reached IDR22.6 billion.

For information, ZINC established a sales target of IDR1.2-IDR1.5 trillion by the end of 2021. Along with the efforts to increase production, the Company also continues to increase their number of heavy equipment while developing infrastructure for underground mining. (LM)
