JAKARTA – PT Lintasarta and Trans Hybrid Communication resort to using optical fibre infrastructure of PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem (Weave), a subsidiary of PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (WIFI), spanning through the train tracks of PT Kereta Api (Persero) across Java.

Hermansjah Haryono, CEO of Solusi Sinergi Digital, mentions that WIFI’s business partners could optimise their service quality by taking advantage of thousands of points of presence laid out across all train stations in Java. “As a neutral carrier provider and collaborator, we are facilitating local internet service providers (ISPs), data centre business owners, and telecommunication business owners to gain additional values through faster connection from our company,” he claims in a press release today (9/9).

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two information and communication technology companies mentioned above and Weave took place yesterday (8/9). For the record, Weave now has 144 fibre optic cores spread along 2,800 km of railway in Java. Specifically, the cores are installed in 500 train stations in nine of KAI’s operational areas.

The fiber optic is further revealed to be connected to switching dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) and edge data center (EDC) to secure internet interconnection and data load distribution within the network.

On the other hand, Ginandjar, Director of Lintasarta, believes that the collaboration with Weave would bring a positive contribution to the acceleration of IT infrastructure establishment in Indonesia. (LK/ZH)
