Bank Jago commences the operation of its sharia business unit

24 September 2021 09:29

JAKARTA. PT Bank Jago Tbk (ARTO) has officially opened its sharia business unit to accommodate the sharia-principle-based mass market.

Kharim Siregar, President Director of ARTO, claims that Jago Syariah establishment would support the users’ habit of using digital technologies for banking activities. But, unfortunately, Siregar notices that most digital banking platforms are originated from conventional banks.

“We provide alternatives for those who have preferences of using sharia banking products and services,” Siregar adds in a press release received by idnfinancials.com.

Siregar is also quite confident with this sharia business unit as the asset growth rate of national sharia banks and business units has reached 15.87% by the end of H1 2021. Meanwhile, the third-party fund growth rate of national sharia banks and business units in the same period was 16.55%, scoring IDR 491.1 trillion.

ARTO is currently assembling the Jago Syariah application to support the freshly launched business unit. “It is entering the final stage. We are certainly going our best to launch it as soon as possible,” Siregar confirms. (KR/ZH)
