TINS transforms former mine into a tourist attraction in Bangka Belitung

BELITUNG - PT Timah Tbk (TINS) has transformed one of its former mines into a tourist area in the province of Bangka Belitung. The company hopes that this place can be one of the drivers of village revenue.

The 17.7 hectare project is located on a former tin mine owned by the company which operated in 2010-2013. The tourist spot is called Kampong Reklamasi which is located in Selinsing Village, Hanging District, East Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Province.

"We have started to manage intensely since 2017 by planting horticulture, fruit trees, fast-growing plants, animal husbandry, fisheries, and tourism," explained the Head of the Environment and Reclamation Division of PT Timah Tbk Rahardian Budi Permana to Bisnis.

Kampong Reklamasi is equipped with several facilities such as fishing villas, artificial lake docks, water rides, parabolic shelters, and PLTS with a capacity of 10 kilowatt peaks. Currently, Kampong Reklamasi has obtained an environmental permit and is currently processing a tourism permit. (LM)
