Energi Management Indonesia to be listed as PLN’s subsidiary

25 October 2021 07:51

JAKARTA – The Ministry of State-owned Enterprises (BUMN) transferred all Series B shares of PT Energi Management Indonesia (Persero) (EMI) to PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN). This company is intended to collect IDR 8 trillion of revenue by 2025 after being listed as PLN’s subsidiary.

Erick Thohir, BUMN Ministry, explained that placing EMI under PLN is a part of BUMN transformation in the renewable energy field. “We are performing efficiencies in BUMN by joining EMI to PLN. EMI would also alter its business model from an auditing system to green energy,” he further explained in the press release, quoted Monday (25/10).

According to Thohir, PLN must rearrange its business model and adjust it to the eco=lifestyle that would take over the current society. Eco-lifestyle would pose a significant impact on all aspects of local communities, particularly in reducing environmental damages.

PLN is known to set the decarbonisation target by 117 million tons until 2025. EMI’s presence in PLN would then reduce CO2 emission by 3.2 million tons in PLN projects and by 4.19 million tons of CO2 outside PLN projects. (LK/ZH)
