Taking up a submarine cable project, Hawaiki Submarine asked Moratel for assistance

JAKARTA – Hawaiki Submarine Cable Limited Partnership, a New Zealand-based company, paired up with PT Mora Telematika Indonesia (Moratel) to optimise the route and manage the license for a submarine cable infrastructure project in Indonesia.

Quoting the information disclosure on Friday (5/11), Hawaiki is known to be currently establishing the submarine communication system infrastructure linking Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, and the United States of America. This partnership project would then involve the engineering, provision, construction, installation, and operation of the Hawaiki Nui project in Singapore and Indonesia Segment. This segment would then be integrated with the entire Hawaiku Nui Submarine Cable System.

Moratel would act as the administrator, obtaining the license and needed authorisation in Indonesia for this project. It includes the system and development design to optimise the submarine cable route and landing points regarding the underground cable infrastructure connected to the submarine cable network.

This collaborative project is also intended to boost the company’s revenue. However, the details of the contract value have yet to be disclosed. (LK/ZH)
