Ministry of Trade targets exports up to 1000 tons to Japan via the Samratulangi-Narita route

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade together with the Industry Office of North Sulawesi released 15 tons of fishery and agricultural products exports or worth USD 90 thousand to Japan on Wednesday (10/11). The export release is carried out by utilizing the direct flight route of Garuda Indonesia from Samratulangi Airport, North Sulawesi, to Narita Airport, Japan. Until 2022, through this airport, exports of agricultural and fishery products are targeted to reach 1,000 tons to Japan.

"The release of exports to Japan is a collaboration between the central government, regional governments, SOEs, business actors, and stakeholders as an effort to expand the market for North Sulawesi's superior products to the global market, especially Japan," said Director General of National Export Development Didi Sumedi in a separate place.

Didi said the Ministry of Trade is committed to continuing to increase exports of potential products and services through various promotional activities, capacity building for export businesses, product development, branding, export training, export market information, business exploration, and various other programs. This is done to maintain a trade balance surplus.

Director of Export Development Cooperation Marolop Nainggolan said the release of this export was a form of socialization of the use of Garuda Indonesia direct flight routes from Samratulangi to Narita airport in Japan. This is expected to attract foreign buyers to conduct business cooperation with business actors in the region. Thus, it can improve the regional economy. (LM)
