CIMB Niaga Syariah profit grew 32.1% in 9M2021

JAKARTA - The Sharia Business Unit (UUS) of PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (CIMB Niaga Syariah) managed to record a profit of IDR1.4 trillion in the first nine months of 2021, up 32.1% on a Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) basis. The profit growth was mainly contributed by financing disbursement of IDR35.4 trillion from the Consumer Banking, Financial Institution Group (FIG) and Small Medium Enterprise (SME) segments.

Meanwhile, in terms of funding, as of September 30, 2021, CIMB Niaga Syariah managed to raise third party funds of IDR 36.7 trillion, with a CASA ratio of 45.4%. The growth of low-cost funds is in line with the continued digitization of services.

Director of Sharia Banking CIMB Niaga Pandji P. Djajanegara stated, CIMB Niaga Syariah is grateful to be able to maintain business growth in the midst of challenging conditions. “The strategy we implemented in responding to the current situation is going well, so all of our business indicators have been positive. To continue to achieve good results, we will continue to focus on financing in the prospective Consumer Banking and SME segments. In addition to increasing the portion of low-cost funds to increase profitability, optimize digital banking services, and continue to develop the community ecosystem," said Pandji at a virtual Joint Discussion with CIMB Niaga Syariah, in Jakarta, Thursday (11/18/2021).

In addition to this strategy, CIMB Niaga Syariah continues to strengthen its capabilities so that it can develop into a future financial institution that cares about environmental sustainability. This effort was carried out through the “Sharia Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” initiative which was started last year. This initiative supports the achievement of global and national agendas related to the SDGs, particularly in accelerating sustainable economic growth. (LM)
