JAKARTA – PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (LPPF) plans to introduce ten new stores next year following the opening of two new outlets in Cianjur, West Java, and Batam, Riau, on December 20, 2022. Miranti Hadisusilo, Corporate Secretary of Matahari Department Store, announced the news in the information disclosure quoted Wednesday (15/12).

It was mentioned that the opening of ten new outlets next year is linked to the expansion plan designed by the company. “By the end of this year, the company would have 139 stores across Indonesia,” Hadisusilo explained.

According to Hadisusilo, come this year-end, there will be two additional outlets in Cianjur Citimall 2 and One Batam Mall. They are the third and fourth-latest stores established this year. The stores have areas of 5,000 m2 each to offer products from various brands.

The locations of the ten upcoming stores in 2022 are yet to be specified. For the record, LPPF’s stores amounted to 155 units in 2017 and increased to 169 units in 2019. However, LPPF lost several outlets due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. (LK/ZH)
