Export value of household electronic products rose 98%

JAKARTA - The electronics industry is one of the manufacturing sectors that gets development priorities in carrying out digital transformation in accordance with the Making Indonesia 4.0 road map. This strategic effort aims to improve quality and quantity more efficiently so that they can be competitive in the domestic and global markets.

"We hope that all manufacturing sectors in the country, including the electronics industry, can further increase the application of basic industry 4.0 technologies such as Big Data, Cloud Computing, or IoT Devices in carrying out their production processes," said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita at the Release of the 600th Container Export of Vacuum Cleaner by PT. Selaras Donlim Indonesia (SDI) in Bogor, Monday (20/12)

The Minister of Industry expressed his appreciation to PT SDI, because although it has only started its commercial production activities in February 2021, at the end of this year PT SDI has been able to export vacuum cleaner products (600th container) to the United States.

On the other hand, the electronics industry, especially for household products, is currently showing positive performance, particularly in terms of exports. In January-September 2021, the export value of household products was recorded at USD1.8 billion, an increase of 98% compared to the same period in the previous year. (LM)
