Indosat Ooredoo records 24% increase in data traffic during new year

JAKARTA - Indosat Ooredoo has managed to maintain good network performance in anticipating the digital telecommunications needs of its customers during the 2021 Christmas holiday and 2022 New Year's holidays. In this holiday season, Indosat Ooredoo recorded the highest daily data traffic growth with a 24% increase on January 1, 2022, where up to 98% of them can be served on the 4G network.

This is inseparable from the hard work of the entire Indosat Ooredoo team and our partners in the field, who have succeeded in anticipating and ensuring the availability of services for all customers.

Indosat Ooredoo recorded a 14% increase in data traffic on 25 December 2021 and an increase of 24% on 1 January 2022 compared to normal day traffic. A significant increase in data traffic was seen in several cities in Java, such as Bodetabek, Cirebon, Kudus, Tasikmalaya, Tegal, Tuban, Serang, Solo, and Sukabumi.

Data traffic was also recorded to have increased quite high in several other cities outside Java, including in Balikpapan, Manado, and Samarinda. Meanwhile, Youtube, Facebook, WhatsApp, TitTok, and Instagram are still the most used applications by customers during the holidays.

Prior to the holiday period, Indosat Ooredoo also conducted network tests in several public areas and residential areas that are predicted to experience a surge in telecommunication traffic, such as recreation areas, main roads, toll roads, rest areas, airports, bus terminals, train stations, and places of worship.
