BPH Migas asks Pertamina and AKRA to distribute 15.1 million kl of subsidised diesel fuel

JAKARTA. Oil and Gas Downstream Regulatory Agency (lit. Badan Pengatur Hilir Minyak dan Gas Bumi/BPH Migas) has ordered PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, one of subsidiaries of PT Pertamina (Persero), and PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA) to distribute subsidised diesel fuel of 15.1 million kilolitres (kl) this year.

Erika Retnowati, Head of BPH Migas, stated that the said quota would fit according to several considerations. “They include the needs suggestion of certain fuel types (lit. Jenis Bahan Bakar Tertentu/JBT) of diesel fuel in 2022 from the regional government, the data of diesel fuel distribution realisation of Pertamina and AKR in 2021, and the formula that goes in accordance with the result of a meeting with the stakeholders,” she explained in the official release.

Pertamina and AKRA are also urged to coordinate further with BPH Migas should there be any increase in demands or any hindrances in diesel fuel distribution in every regency and city. This strategy is intended to minimise the risk of diesel fuel scarcity.

“The most important thing is the precision of the distribution target so that the subsidised JBT quota could be utilised by the rightful ones,” Retnowati stated.

According to the result of the BPH Migas Committee Assembly last week, the JBT quota in 2022 comprises kerosene of 480 thousand kl and diesel fuel of 15.1 million kl. Once the distributed fuel by Pertamina AKRA exceeds the said quota, it will no longer be counted as subsidised JBT. (KR/ZH)
