JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation held an Electric Car Touring activity from Jakarta to Jambi. This activity aims to encourage the massive use of environmentally friendly vehicles.
"To make the use of battery-based electric vehicles more massive, of course a campaign is needed. This touring activity is a symbol that we are always consistent in making it happen," said the Transportation Minister.
The Transportation Minister said that the current campaign for the use of environmentally friendly vehicles is the right momentum, where this year Indonesia was appointed to host the G20 international meeting, which focuses on the agenda of creating sustainable development and better environmental sustainability in the future.
The implementation of the Jakarta-Jambi electric vehicle Touring in 2022 was attended by 11 units of electric vehicles consisting of 1 unit of Nissan Leaf electric vehicle; 1 unit DFSK Gelora EV electric vehicle; 1 Unit Hyundai Ionic electric Vehicle; 8 units of operational electric vehicles of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation; 2 Units of Service Vehicles (Non Electric); 4 units of service and companion vehicles.
The distance from Jakarta to Jambi is about 826 Kilometers, with an estimated journey of 2 (two) days. It is estimated that the participants will arrive in Jambi on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, which will be welcomed by the Minister of Transportation at the finish line.
During the touring trip, there will be stops at a number of vehicle charging locations or Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) which have been supported by PT. PLN Persero. At each point, socialization activities for the acceleration of electric vehicles will also be carried out together with a number of local governments and related stakeholders. (LM)
