JAKARTA. Through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the Indonesian government has listed some objectives for the oil and gas sector in 2022.

Tutuka Ariadji, Director-General of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of ESDM, claimed that these goals include the number of several auctioned oil and gas work areas, gas utilisation rate in the domestic market, and oil and gas lifting and investment. “We will continue to generate suitable policies and monitor the policy enforcement through a stronger cooperation with stakeholders,” he promised as stated in the official release.

Regarding the auction of oil and gas work areas, the government plans to put 12 work areas in an auction. It is higher than last year’s target of 10 work areas.

Then, the gas utilisation rate for domestic needs is set to 66%, which matches the realisation of gas utilisation for domestic needs in 2021.

Lastly, for oil and gas lifting, the government aims to pump out 730 MBOPD of crude oil and 1,036 MBOEPD of natural gas in total by the end of this year. Meanwhile, investments in the oil and gas sector are targeted to reach USD 17 billion. (KR/ZH)
