JAKARTA. PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk (NISP) recorded a net profit of IDR 2.5 trillion in 2021, 20% year-on-year (yoy) higher than the previous year’s gains of IDR 2.1 trillion.

Parwati Surjaudaja, President Director of Bank OCBC NISP, claimed that the said growth resulted from several innovations and initiatives in managing users’ financial condition amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. “The initiatives, warmly welcomed by our users, have triggered a positive performance of Bank OCBC NISP and will be a solid motivation for us to contribute even more to the sustainable economic recovery,” she told idnfinancials.com.

Throughout 2021, NISP managed to collect third-party funds of up to IDR 168 trillion. It increased 6% yoy from IDR 159 trillion in 2020. Furthermore, the gross distributed credits reportedly grew 5% yoy yo IDR 120.8 trillion in 2021.

The increases in third-party funds and credit channelling were completed with healthy asset quality. It is evident from the net non-performing loan (NPL) rate of NISP in 2021, which was maintained at 0.9%, whereas the gross NPL ratio remained at 2.4%.

This year, NISP believes the global and domestic economy will improve. Although the uncertainty is still there after the emergence of the new COVID-19 variant, “the increasingly more effective pandemic response is expected to bring forth positive impacts on the econonmic recovery prospect,” Surjaudaja concluded.
