JAKARTA. PT MNC Studios International Tbk (MSIN) recently signed a share purchase agreement (SPA) with Trebel Music, a Latin-America-based digital music platform that provides an on-demand song streaming service for free.
The conditional sale and purchase agreement (CSPA) was signed by MSIN and Trebel back on January 6, 2022. Then, MSIN will arrange an Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting on February 7, 2022, to ask for approval regarding the Trebel acquisition plan.
Trebel Music will then be integrated into RCTI+ and Vision+ as new content for each platform. MSIN aims for Trebel to be released in Indonesia by the first quarter of 2022.
Valencia Tanoesoedibjo, Director of MSIN, claimed that the said investment aligns with the company’s vision to develop a media digital-ecosystem managed by MNC. “With the involvement of Trebel in our super app, the company could provide new features and uniqueness of Trebel in offering millions of world’s best hits to Indonesian for free,” she explained in the official release.
The integration of Trebel into the super app owned by MSIN will lay out new options for advertisers regarding any marketing campaign that targets the local music listeners. It will also be supported with MNC’s market share that is claimed to have reached 50% of the total ad spending of free-to-air tv channels in Indonesia. (KR/ZH)
