JAKARTA – PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) and PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR) undertake the development of solar power plants throughout entire tollway areas of JSMR. This combined endeavour aims to support the global carbon emission reduction program signed in Bali this Wednesday (2/2).

In a quoted press release, Subakti Syukur, President Director of Jasa Marga, said that the signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) indicates the initial stage of collaboration between PTBA and JSMR to establish sustainable toll roads. “Jasa Marga has a potential of prospective business development across its toll roads and has a prospect of a productive partnership,” he added.

On the other hand, Arsal Ismail, President Director of Bukit Asam, stated that the cooperation between these two parties could hopefully offer positive contributions. “It reflects the implementation of strategy towards corporate business transformation this year,” he added.

According to Ismail, the collaboration with Jasa Marga is also intended to enrich the company’s portfolio in the new and renewable energy resources field. The development of new and renewable energy resources follows the implementation of the Paris Agreement, ratified by Indonesia in 2016. (LK/ZH)
