IMS construction progress at GBK Complex reaches 4%

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in December 2021 has started the construction of the Indoor Multifunction Stadium (IMS) at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Complex, DKI Jakarta Province to support the implementation of the 2023 FIBA ​​Basketball World Cup. Construction progress of the stadium until the end of January 2022 has reached 4.0% or faster than the planned 0.8% with a target of completion in June 2023.

The indoor stadium is built on an area of ​​30,720 m2 and a building footprint of 20,852.79 m2 with the main function as a basketball court which has 1 FOP and 2 practice fields. The location of the indoor stadium is not far from the GOR Indoor Basket Hall A GBK Complex with a capacity to accommodate 16,088 spectators.

The construction of this stadium is carried out through a Multi Years Contract (MYC) 2021 - 2023 scheme worth IDR 639.1 billion with PT Adhi Karya - PT Nindya Karya - PT Penta (JO) as contractors. The work carried out includes structures, architecture, mechanical and electrical, field construction and match equipment, practice fields, changing rooms, tribunes, royal boxes, lighting systems, acoustics, sound systems, visual systems, ticketing, fire protection systems, internal transportation systems. buildings, and fulfillment of green building criteria.

The construction of this indoor stadium is carried out because Indonesia has been chosen to be the co-host of the 2023 FIBA ​​Basketball World Cup along with two other countries, namely Japan and the Philippines. In addition to basketball, the indoor stadium can also be used as a volleyball court, badminton, boxing, MMA, tennis, athletics, and other non-sports functions such as concerts, seminars and other special performances.
