Fitch affirms Bank Syariah Indonesia’s rating of “AA(idn)”

JAKARTA. PT Fitch Ratings Indonesia has affirmed the long-term national rating of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) of “AA(idn)” with a Stable outlook.

Iwan Wisaksana, Director of Fitch Ratings Indonesia, explained that the said rating indicated an expectation of a very low risk of payment failure. “Compared to other issuers or bonds in the same country or monetary union,” he added in the official release.

Fitch Ratings Indonesia also granted a short-term national rating of “F1+(idn)” to BRIS. This “F1” rating demonstrates the highest capacity of channelling timely payments of financial commitments relative to the issuer or other obligations,” Wisaksana stated.

Additionally, the Subordinate Sukuk Mudharabah I issued by BRIN in 2016 was also given the rating “A+(idn).”

According to idnfinancials.com data, BRIS has collected total assets of IDR 265.29 trillion by the end of December 31, 2021. Meanwhile, its total equity amounts to IDR 25.01 trillion.

In 2021, BRIS managed to score IDR 3.04 trillion in its net profit, which was supported by the mudharib funds of IDR 17.82 trillion and bank profit-sharing of IDR 13.43 trillion. (KR/ZH)
