Sales of Indonesian household products reach USD 2.37 million in the US

CHICAGO -  Indonesian furniture and household products are increasingly gaining a place in the United States (US) market. This was proven when he participated in the household appliances exhibition The Inspired Home Show (IHS) 2022 which was held on 5-7 March 2022 in Chicago, United States (US). At this exhibition, the Indonesian Pavilion received a total transaction of USD 2.37 million.

“This achievement is the first step to increase exports to the US market. It is hoped that Indonesian business actors can take advantage of the momentum to continue to penetrate, especially during the economic recovery period after the Covid-19 pandemic," said Director General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade Didi Sumedi in a separate place.

At IHS 2022, the Indonesian Pavilion occupies an area of ​​92.9 m² with a special construction design with the aim of enhancing the image of quality and unique Indonesian products. The Indonesian Pavilion presents seven companies, namely Aninda Furniture, Art Classic International, Aryasena, Fara Cipta Kreasi Internasional, Mendekor Anugerah Indonesia (Lekuk), Multi Kreatif Furnindo, and Oesing Craft.

Based on Global Trade Atlas–S&P Global data, the value of American imports for 2021 household appliances products from the world reached USD 699 billion, an increase of around 25.69 percent from 2020. In this sector, Indonesia occupies the 14th position as the country of origin of imports for the US with transaction value of USD 6.4 billion in 2021, up 28.34 percent from the previous year which was recorded at USD 4.9 billion. From this data, there is still a very wide opportunity for Indonesian products to flood the US home appliance market. (LM)
