Gov’t eyes IDR 20 trillion through SUN auction next week

JAKARTA. The Indonesian government will hold an auction of Government Securities (lit. Surat Utang Negara/SUN) next Tuesday, March 29, 2022, targeting to raise IDR 20 trillion.

This action is intended to achieve the financing target set in the 2022 State Budget, as confirmed by the Directorate-General of Budget Financing and Risk Management (DJPPR) of the Ministry of Finance. The auction heeds the regulation set by the Minister of Finance regarding the Government Securities auction in the domestic market and acknowledge the regulations concerning the state policy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and maintaining the stability of our monetary system.

The auction will start at 9 AM WIB until 11 AM WIB on March 29, 2022. Meanwhile, the settlement date in the SUN auction will fall on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

There will be seven series of Bonds offered in the said auction, two of which are Treasury Notes (lit. Surat Perbendaharaan Negara/SPN) and another five is Government Bonds (lit. Obligasi Negara/ON).

“The bids for the purchase should be submitted through the participants as dictated in the Regulation of the Minister of Finance,” DJPPR of the Ministry of Finance reaffirmed.

The participants in question are primary dealers, Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), and Bank Indonesia (BI). The eligible primary dealers in the auction will comprise 17 banks and three security companies. (KR/ZH)
