Indonesian products record a potential transaction of USD 3.7 million at Sirha Budapest 2022

BUDAPEST - Indonesian products have again appeared convincing in the European market by reaping potential transactions of USD 3.7 million through participation in the 2022 Sirha Budapest exhibition at Hungexpo, Budapest, Hungary. The transaction stems from a potential transaction at the Indonesian Pavilion of USD 1.5 million and a planned purchase of roasted coffee beans from Indonesia with a value of USD 2.2 million. The exhibition will be held for three days, from 22-24 March 2022.

"In addition to potential transactions, the Indonesian Pavilion Participation has succeeded in becoming a magnet for professional visitors to the Hotel Restaurant and Catering (HoReCa) sector who conduct business meetings with Indonesian Pavilion participants," explained Head of Indonesian Trade Promotion Center Budapest Sari Handini Murti. At this exhibition, the Indonesian Pavilion raised the theme 'Indonesia Spice Up the World' to promote Indonesian spices. The Indonesian Pavilion is located in the main hall of Hungexpo with a traditional-themed construction of a joglo house and occupies a 105 m² plot of land.

Sari revealed, at this exhibition, Indonesian products that are in demand include vanilla, black onion, and kratom. Indonesian vanilla is one of the main competitors for vanilla from Africa, which was first known in Europe. Several European businessmen who visited the Indonesian Pavilion assessed that Indonesian vanilla had quality and was ready to enter the European market. Another commodity, black garlic has also managed to amaze professional visitors because it has a sweet taste and beneficial properties for the body.

In January 2022, Indonesia's exports to Hungary were recorded at USD 8.49 million, an increase of 77.09 percent from the same period the previous year which was recorded at USD 4.79 million. Meanwhile, in 2021, the total trade between the two countries will reach USD 197.74 million with Indonesian exports to Hungary recorded at USD 92.74 million and Indonesia's imports from Hungary amounting to USD 105.01 million.

In 2021, Indonesia's main export products to Hungary include natural rubber, electric instant water heaters, electrical machinery and equipment, telephone equipment, and plate printing machines. Meanwhile, Indonesia's main imported products from Hungary are telephone equipment, processed wood, mixed substances, automatic data processing machines, and centrifugal dryers. (LM)
