Tolaram Group raises its percentage in Bank Amar

JAKARTA – Tolaram Group Inc secures additional 2,435% of shares in PT Bank Amar Indonesia Tbk (AMAR) for IDR 117.97 billion in total in a transaction that took place last week (22/4). Gaby Diovani, Corporate Secretary of Bank Amar, revealed the transaction report quoted Friday (29/4).

It was mentioned that Tolaram’s stock portion after this transaction rose to 57.496% or 7,946,197,055 shares from 55.043% or 7,607,198,419 shares. “The total shares in the transaction clocks up to 338,998,636 shares worth IDR 348 each,” Diovani confirmed.

As of March 2022, Bank Amar’s shares reportedly reached 13,820,372,000 units. Tolaram Group claimed 55.043% of them, while the public shared the remaining 44.957%. Tolaram is headquartered in International Business Park, Singapore, and legally based in British Virgin Island.

Bank Amar managed to cash in net interest revenue of IDR 482.22 billion at the end of December 2021, climbing from the same period in 2020 of IDR 462.94 billion. Its operating profit clocked up to IDR 7.04 billion, sliding off from IDR 29.2 billion, while the net profit reached IDR 4.11 billion, also declining from IDR 8.58 billion. (LK/ZH)
