Gov’t sukuk auction gained IDR 17.02 trillion

JAKARTA. The incoming bids during the auction of Sharia Government Securities (lit. Surat Berharga Syariah Negara/SBSN) or Government Sukuk yesterday (17/5) were rounded up to IDR 17.02 trillion. It was 125.73% higher than the auction on April 19, 2022, which only secured IDR 7.54 trillion.

Based on the press release of the Directorate-General of Budget Financing and Risk Management of the Ministry of Finance, the auction offered six series of SBSN, comprising one series of Sharia Treasury Notes (lit. Surat Perbendaharaan Negara-Syariah/SPN-S) and five Project-Based Sukuk (PBS). Out of the auctioned series, SPNS15112022, maturing on November 15, 2022, received highest bids, totalling IDR 6.08 trillion.

Out of these incoming bids, the awarded weighted average yield reached 2.47% with the total awarded amount of IDR 250 billion. Meanwhile, the most sought-out series is PBS029, maturing on March 15, 2034, with the total incoming bids of IDR 3.35 trillion, awarded weighted average yield of 7.05%, and the amount of IDR 1.45 trillion.

The total awarded amount of these six series is IDR 4.28 trillion, lower than the government’s target of IDR 9 trillion. The exact same condition was observed during the auction a couple of weeks ago, in which the awarded bids arrived lower than the indicative target, only amounting to IDR 2.01 trillion. (AM/ZH)
