JAKARTA – PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel), a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), made an investment in PT Telkomsel Ekosistem Digital (TED) worth IDR 292 billion. Bogi Witjaksono, Director of Strategic Portfolio ad interim of TLKM, relayed the news in the information disclosure quoted Monday (23/5).
“The investment by Telkomsel is intended to reinforce the digital platorn owned by TED,” Witjaksono added.
According to Witjaksono, said extra capital was injected last week (18/5), being categorised as an affiliate transaction and a transaction with a conflict of interest. TLKM indeed has a claim over 65% of Telkomsel’s shares, leaving the rest to Singapore Telecom Mobile Pte Ltd (Singtel). Meanwhile, Telkomsel controls 99.99% of TED.
TED is engaged in the business and investment management consultation service, including capital participation in several companies in the data processing, hosting, and advertising. This venture has assets of IDR 743 billion recorded at the end of March 2022. (LK/ZH)
