Consumer optimism remains strong in June 2022

JAKARTA - The Consumer Survey in June 2022 indicated that consumer optimism for economic conditions remained strong. This is indicated by the Consumer Confidence Index (IKK) in June 2022 of 128.2 or remaining at an optimistic level (index > 100), relatively stable compared to the previous month which was 128.9.

The maintained consumer confidence was supported by strengthening consumer expectations regarding future economic conditions, particularly in terms of income and employment.

On a quarterly basis, the average IKK during the second quarter of 2022 increased compared to the previous quarter. The average CPI in the second quarter of 2022 was recorded at 123.4, higher than 114.6 in the first quarter of 2022. This increase was driven by consumer optimism regarding current economic conditions, both in terms of income, availability of employment and timeliness in purchasing goods. durable.

In line with increasing consumer optimism regarding current economic conditions, consumer expectations for future economic conditions also increased in all aspects, namely the availability of employment opportunities, business activities, and income. (LM)
