JAKARTA – PT Tigaraksa Satria Tbk (TGKA), a consumption goods manufacturer, will introduce a joint venture (JV) named PT Tira Cipta Logistik (TCL) as a way to expand its scope to the cold chain product industry.

Syahrizal Sabir, Corporate Secretary of Tigaraksa Satria, revealed that TCL will be responsible for leading the operational activities in the distribution centre and providing value-added services for cold chain products. “Our commitment of the early paid-up capital of TCL amounts to IDR 90 billion,” he mentioned in the information disclosure quoted Tuesday (12/7).

In order to form TCL, the company asks the participation of PT Proteindotama Cipta Pangan (PCP), a subsidiary of PT Ciomas Adisatwa, which is also a subsidiary of PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JPA). TCL’s early issued and paid-up capital is set to IDR 150 billion, 60% of which belongs to TGKA, while PCP earns the remaining 40%.

According to Sabir, this new joint venture will catch some opportunities in the cold chain product distribution sector, which is a new business framework developed in 2021 in the food and beverages industry. “The fund source of this joint venture establishment comes from the company’s internal cash,” he added.
