JAKARTA – PT Mitrabara Adiperdana Tbk (MBAP), a coal mining company, will channel additional loan worth IDR 16.40 billion to PT Duta Bara Utama (DBU). This company is a joint venture established by MBAP and PT Duta Resource Energy (DRU).

Chandra Lautan, Corporate Secretary of Mitrabara Adiperdana, said that this shareholder loan facility for DBU is intended to support its operational activities. “DBU recorded a loss and failed to generate any revenue in 2021, making them in dire need for financial aid,” he said in the information disclosure quoted today (13/7).

This loan facility will be added to DBU’s total debts to MBAP to IDR 22.38 billion. On March 24, 2020, MBAP had also disbursed a loan for DBU worth IDR 6.28 billion.

In December 2021, DBU reported total shares of 190,688 shares worth IDR 190.68 billion in total. DRU controlled 74% of them, while MBAP earned the remaining 26%. All in all, the total loan given to DBU is less than 20% of MBAP’s total equity in December 2021, which amounted to IDR 2.85 trillion. (LK/ZH)
