BRI takes over 30% of DIM from Danareksa

JAKARTA – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) acquires 9 million shares or 30% of PT Danareksa’s (Persero) portion in PT Danareksa Investment Management (DIM). The transaction value of this shares takeover arrives at IDR 360.34 billion.

Aestika Oryza Gunarto, Corporate Secretary of Bank Rakyat Indonesia, confirmed that the conditional sale and purchase agreement regarding this acquisition took place yesterday (19/7). “Following the transaction, the company will secure a total of 19.5 million shares or 65% of the entire shares issued by DIM,” he explained in the information disclosure quoted Thursday (21/7).

Prior to this transaction, Danareksa’s ownership in DIM was 65% of DIM’s entire issued and paid-up capital, which is worth IDR 30 billion. Then, BRI has another 35% of the shares. For the record, DIM’s authorised capital reportedly reached IDR 120 billion.

It is worth mentioning that BRI and Danareksa are affiliated as the government owns 53.19% and 100% of their shares, respectively.

With this acquisition, BRI has now cemented its vision to be the most valuable bank in the Southeast Asia and the champion of financial inclusion. Furthermore, BRI is working on optimising its investment management in its ecosystem. (LK/ZH)
