Underperforming, gov’t to hold another sukuk auction

27 July 2022 09:43

JAKARTA. The Indonesian government once again arranges an auction of four series of Government Sharia Securities (lit. Surat Berharga Syariah Negara/SBSN) or State Sukuk today (27/7), following the unsatisfactory IDR 5.87 trillion collected in the most recent auction.

There are four series of sukuk offered in today’s auction. They are PBS029, PBS031, PBS032, and PBS033, all of which had been offered in the auction held yesterday (26/7).

For the record, the Directorate-General of Budget Financing and Risk Management (DJPPR) of the Ministry of Finance previously set the indicative target of yesterday’s auction to IDR 7 trillion. However, the awarded amount arrived 16% below said target.

“The government will hold an extended auction of SBSN (Green Shoe Option) on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 9-10 AM WIB,” DJPPR of the Ministry of Finance announced.

The yield offered alongside those four sukuk series is varied, from 4% to 6.75%. The underlying assets for those sukuk series are projects and events mentioned in the 2022 State Budget, as well as State-Owned Assets in the form of land and buildings. (KR/ZH)
