Minister of Transportation conducts work visit to Europe to explore opportunities in the transportation sector

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi will leave for Europe, to start a series of meetings with a number of parties from Hungary, Austria, and France, on August 30 to September 2, 2022.

"The work visit will be carried out to explore opportunities for cooperation in the land, sea, air, and rail transportation sectors, as well as cooperation in developing human resources in the transportation sector," said the Minister of Transportation, Monday (29/8).

In Hungary, the Minister of Transportation is scheduled to meet with the Hungarian Minister of Innovation and Technology, Mr. László Palkovics, inspected the location of the ZalaZone proving ground in Budapest, and met with the authorities and managers of the train, MRT, and electric buses in Hungary.

Then in Austria, scheduled to meet with the Leader of the international ropeway company (ropeway/cable car) Doppelmayr Group. Next in France, he is scheduled to meet with the French Minister of Transport Clément Beaune, the head of the aviation authority Aeroports de Paris, and the head of the rail transport companies Systra Group and Crossrail International (CI), which have assisted the Jabodebek LRT project phase 1 as consultants. It is hoped that the two companies can participate in the Jabodebek LRT project phase 2.

Meanwhile, at the meeting, Indonesia offered private participation in a number of construction and development of facilities, infrastructure, and human resources in the transportation sector, including: the Proving Ground project, Ambon Baru Port, Baubau Port in South Sulawesi, and Palembang Baru Tanjung Carat Port, Singkawang Airport in West Kalimantan. rail-based urban transportation development, as well as human resource development cooperation (student exchange programs, scholarships, or public lectures given by experts and academics in the field of transportation.
