JAKARTA – PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF) collected current year’s profit of IDR 2.90 trillion at the end of the first half of 2022, declining 16% from IDR 3.43 trillion recorded in the same period last year.
In the press release quoted Wednesday (31/8), Anthoni Salim, President Director of Indofood Sukses Makmur, claimed that the deflated profit resulted from the increase of foreign exchange loss that was yet unrealised from fundings. “The profit margin also dropped from 7.3% in H1 2021 to 5.5% in H1 2022,” he explained.
Despite the contraction in the profit margin, the core profit was seen shifting 2% higher from IDR 3.92 trillion to IDR 4 trillion.
This food and beverages manufacturer also saw 12% growth in its revenue from IDR 47.29 trillion in H1 2021 to IDR 52.79 trillion in H1 2022. Similarly, the operating profit clmbed 4% year-on-year (yoy) from IDR 8.49 trillion to IDR 8.83 trillion. However, the operating profit margin slipped off from 17.9% to 16.7%.
“Amidst the global instability, we managed to record sales growth in the first half of 2022,” Salim concluded. (LK/ZH)
