JAKARTA. Until July 2022, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) successfully distributed syndicate loans worth IDR 13.2 trillion. The management then gains optimism about the potential growth of syndicate loans in the future.
Aestika Oryza Gunarto, Corporate Secretary of BBRI, revealed that the energy, agribusiness, manufacturing industry, and mining sectors were still dominating the BRI’s syndicate loan disbursement. BRI then projects the syndicate loan facility to reach IDR 4.8 trillion by the end of 2022.
“BRI is still quite optimistic regarding the syndicate loan distribution until the end of 2022 as the economy recovers, the energy and commodity price surges, and the major projects commences their operation,” Gunarto explained, as quoted in Bisnis last Monday (12/9).
Amin Nurdin, Senior Faculty Member of Indonesia Banking Development Institution (lit. Lembaga Pengembangan Perbankan Indonesia/LPPI), agreed that the syndicate loan facility could be an alternative for banks in credit channelling amidst this current situation, as the risk is minimised by sharing.
