CLEO prepares environmentally friendly strategy amid rising fuel prices

SURABAYA - PT Sariguna Primatirta Tbk (CLEO), is committed to supporting the government's energy security program, namely accelerating the achievement of the New and Renewable Energy (NRE) target in Indonesia by 23% in 2025 and achieve net-zero carbon emissions in 2060. In addition to being an environmentally friendly strategy in the midst of rising fuel prices (BBM), the decision is also in accordance with the Company's active commitment to the use of clean and sustainable energy that can preserve the environment, in line with the value of Sustainability in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) aspects. across business units.

Currently, the National Movement for a Million Solar Roofs (GNSSA) has entered its fifth year. By participating in the signing of this GNSSA declaration, the Company shows its commitment seriously through the installation of Rooftop Solar Power Plants (PLTS Atap) which are connected to the PLN network through an on-grid system in eight of the Company's factories spread from West Java to East Java.

Starting with the installation of Rooftop Solar Power Plants at the largest factory in Pandaan, which was then followed by seven other factories, namely in Kediri, Mojokerto, Bojonegoro, Kudus, Cirebon, Gunung Sindur, and Citeureup. The entire Rooftop Solar Power Plants is expected to be operational by the end of 2022. It does not stop there, the commitment of the management of PT Sariguna Primatirta Tbk to NRE is still continuing with the plan to build a Rooftop Solar Power Plants in the following years.

Apart from being one of the ideal ways to increase the NRE mix, considering Indonesia's advantage on geographical location, for the Company the use of Rooftop Solar Power Plants also helps increase energy efficiency which leads to lower operating costs. The potential of the Company's renewable energy mix from the use of Rooftop Solar Power Plants reaches 10% of the total electrical energy use each year. The utilization of the Rooftop Solar Power Plants also has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 4,022 tons of CO2 per year. (LM)
