Langgur - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, and Maluku Governor Murad Ismail inaugurated the Wear Fair Suspension Bridge as a form of connectivity between two small islands, namely Fair Island and Kei Kecil Island, Maluku Province, Wednesday (14/9/2022).
President Jokowi said that the Government not only builds large infrastructure such as toll roads and dams, but also builds many people's infrastructure whose benefits are directly felt by the community, such as suspension bridges.
Head of the Maluku National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) Jon Sudiman Damanik said the construction of the Wear Fair Suspension Bridge was part of the Central Government's assistance to replace the old suspension bridge which previously collapsed in 2018.
"The construction of the Wear Fair Suspension Bridge began in June 2019 according to the contract and was completed in December 2020. Currently, the handover of asset management has been carried out to the Tual City Government," said Jon.
The contract value for the construction of the 120 meter (m) long suspension bridge with a width of 1.8 m is Rp 6.58 billion. The construction was carried out by contractor CV Keramik Jaya and supervisory consultant PT Yodya Karya. (LM)
