JAKARTA. The Indonesian government concludes the proceeds of the sales of Retail Sukuk (SR017) series of Government Securities (lit. Surat Berharga Negara/SBN) to reach IDR 26.97 trillion. The public offering lasted from August 19 to September 14, 2022.
The SR017 Retail SBN adopts the asset-to-be-leased ijarah agreement. The underlying assets of this security are state-owned goods and other 2022 State Budget projects.
For the record, SR017 is the third retail sharia security issued by the government in 2022. The coupon attached to SR017 is set to 5.90%.
The Directorate-General of Budget Financing and Risk Management (DJPPR) of the Ministry of Finance revealed that the parties interested in SR017 amount to 65,362 investors. “The number of investors of SR017 is the highest number in the history of Retail SBN issuance. It indicates the culminating interest from domestic retail investors,” DJPPR claimed.
Looking at the investors, approximately IDR 10.60 trillion of the total SR017 came from the orders of entrepreneurs. Then, the state civil apparatus also participated with IDR 1.20 trillion worth of orders, followed by the contribution of private sector employees. (KR/ZH)
