JAKARTA. PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) or BSI will immediately commence its rights issue of IDR 5 trillion to reinforce its financing growth.
Heri Gunardi, President Director of BSI, confirmed that the target of this rights issue is set to IDR 5 trillion. “Regarding this rights issue, Bank Mandiri, BNI, and BRI, will be granted pre-emptive rights. If they decided not to purchase shares, it will then be offered to the public,” he explained during the joint work meeting with Commission VI of House of Representatives of Indonesia yesterday (20/9).
Gunardi mentioned that the rights issue proceeds will be utilised to boost the growth of its credit and help it to reach the target. “Our financing growth target is set high,” he said.
BSI will ask for approval from its shareholders during the Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting on September 23, 2022, regarding this corporate action plan. (AM/ZH)
