JAKARTA – The construction of Section 2 of Semarang-Demak Toll Road is targeted for completion at the end of 2022. It progresses well, as this project was reportedly 94.69% done in September 2022.
Bakhtiyar Effendi, Corporate Secretary of Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), mentioned that the work scope of this project includes a slab-on-pile structure of 9,492 kilometres (km) in length, backfilling work of 6,144 km in length, and a bridge structure of 0.679 km in length. “This project records zero workplace accidents, as we implement QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) policy,” he claimed in the press release quoted Monday (26/9).
In addition to this toll road construction, PTPP also acts as an investor of this project. Therefore, his company expects the construction to be completed according to the specified target.
According to Effendi, the Section 2 of Semarang-Demak Toll Road will be linked to Tanggul Laut Kota, Semarang. With this new connection between regions, the new economic development shall arise in Central Java. (LK/ZH)
