ISAT is projected to gain IDR 4.2 trillion of revenue in 2022

JAKARTA. An expert has projected the revenue of PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) or Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison to reach IDR 4.2 trillion at the end of 2022, following its latest merger and major layoffs.

Devi Harjoto, an analyst of KB Valbury Sekuritas, claimed that the improvement in ISAT’s performance will be driven by the data revenue that significantly increases. “Although the competition is still tight throughout 2022, the merger will create a more supportive industry and giving room for other telecommunication service providers to raise its price in the future,” she explained in its research report as quoted by Bisnis yesterday (26/9).

In August 2022, ISAT reported its infrastructure integration, with approximately 12,000 sites, had been conducted seamlessly. With the acceleration of network integration, KB Valbury Sekuritas expects said integration to be realised earlier than two years as mentioned in the schedule.

KB Valbury Sekuritas also believes that the merger will extend ISAT’s user base area, improve the network quality, widen the coverage area, and result in higher efficiency. “Furthermore, ISAT, along with BDx’s subsidiary and Lintasarta, recently established a joint venture to utilise a hyper-scale data centre, making the most of the momentum of rapid demands of cloud and corporate digitalisation,” Harjoto further explained.
