JAKARTA - As one of the advocates representing G20 Empower, PT Bank BTPN Tbk (“Bank BTPN”) continues to reiterate its commitment to creating equal and inclusive work environment through multitudes of strategic initiatives which include women empowerment and gender equality.

In an effort to realize this commitment as well as to encourage acceleration of digital transformation in its internal environment, Bank BTPN has signed up for a partnership with Microsoft Indonesia through the Code; without Barriers (CWB) program. The program which was initiated by Microsoft in September 2021 is aimed at helping narrow the gender gap in the cloud, data, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology sectors. Bank BTPN has also become the first banking entity to join the CWB community in Indonesia.

Affirming this commitment, Mira Fitria Bank BTPN Head of Human Resources explained that the implementation of the CWB program at Bank BTPN this year will be divided into three key components, namely Thought Leadership & Advocacy, Talent Pooling through internship and Tech Opportunities for Women program, as well as Co-branding.

“The three components are aligned with our employee value proposition (EVP) pillar which is ‘Self-growth’ dan ‘Digitally Powered’. The collaboration with Microsoft Indonesia is expected to come up with solutions for improved digital competency to address demand for talent and ensure equal opportunities for women in IT at Bank BTPN. This is a genuine reflection of our mission of creating significant and sustainable values for stakeholders. Bank BTPN is committed to continuously providing the best for our employees and the Indonesian people,” Mira added.

Echoing the same sentiment, Krishna Worotikan, Microsoft Indonesia Chief Financial Officer who also helms the Diversity & Inclusion initiative said, “As part of the society, it has become our joint responsibility to enable a digital world that is inclusive for all. Data showed that under 30% of data and artificial intelligence  professionals are women; this figure falls below 20% when it comes to cloud computing. Therefore, we need to provide more opportunities for women to hone their talents in technology; supporting women to become even more confident when pursuing career in this area. With Bank BTPN joining the Code; Without Barriers program, we believe we can accelerate our progress towards achieving an inclusive digital world.”
