Minister of Transportation checks progress of Jakarta - Bandung high-speed train

BANDUNG - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Saturday (1/10), reviewed the construction project for the Jakarta - Bandung High Speed ​​Train (KCJB) ahead of the visit of Indonesian President Joko Widodo with Chinese President Xi Jinping in November 2022 during the G20 Summit. It is planned that the two Presidents will review the KCJB project by boarding an inspection train.

"It is an honor that Indonesia is the first country in Southeast Asia to have a high-speed train," said the Minister of Transportation when he visited the Tegalluar KCJB Station, Bandung Regency, West Java.

The Minister of Transportation said that the main focus of the completion of the KCJB which stretches from Halim Station - Karawang Station - Padalarang Station - Tegalluar Station and Depo, is from Jakarta's Halim Station to Padalarang Station. Because Padalarang Station will be a meeting station between high speed trains and KCJB feeder trains that will go to Bandung Station.

"We are targeting that the high speed train journey from Jakarta to Bandung will take 52 minutes. From Jakarta to Padalarang 30 minutes and from Padalarang to Bandung (using a feeder train) 22 minutes," said the Minister of Transportation.

Based on data from PT KCIC, the progress of the KCJB project to date has reached 86 percent. It is targeted that this project will be piloted in March 2023 and operational in June 2023. (LM)
