JAKARTA – PT Bank MNC International Tbk (BABP) gears up towards a rights issue of 10,482,985,606 series B shares. This plan had been approved during the Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting on Tuesday (4/10).

Quoting the information disclosure, Rita Montagna, Director of MNC Bank, claimed that the proceeds of the rights issue will be used to strengthen the core capital. “MNC Bank’s commitment is to meet the minimum core capital requirement of IDR 3 trillion this year, following the Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) No.12/2020,” she added.

According to Montagna, this capital increase will support the shareholders’ intention to reinforce its capital to promote credit channelling, fund placements, and securities purchases.

In H1 2022, BABP recorded channeling credits of IDR 9.68 trillion, shiting 25.74% from IDR 7.70 trillion in H1 2021. Its net profit also proliferated massively from IDR 4.78 billion to IDR 34.67 billion due to a significant raise in interest income from IDR 465.86 billion to IDR 537.02 billion. (LK/ZH)
