Habco to purchase an IDR 251 billion bulk carrier

06 October 2022 09:02

JAKARTA – PT Habco Trans Maritima Tbk (HTAM) acquired Habco Aquila MV bulk carrier for IDR 251 billion from PT Habco Primatama (HP), its controlling shareholder. The money to purchase said vessel originates from the cash and the proceeds of the IPO back in July 2022.

Andrew Kam, President Director of Habco Trans Maritima, revealed that the down payment amounts to 50% of the total purchasing price. “The full payment will be channelled no later than three days after the Notice of Readiness (NoR) is issued. The NoR will be issued by October 15, 2022, or at the latest, on December 31, 2022,” he revealed further today (6/10).

This vessel has an IMO number of 9477684, under the DNV class. It was manufactured in 2010 by Chengxi Shipyard Co Ltd, yet is Liberia-flagged, weighing 32,638 GT or 18,070 NT.

According to Kam, the transaction will lower HTAM’s liquidity rate. However, it will not affect the company’s solvency. “The transaction will improve revenue and profit of the company in the future,” he claimed. (LK/ZH)
