Fuel and electricity price rose, Indocement’s Q3 profit fell 21.68%

JAKARTA. The net profit of Tiga Roda, or PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk (INTP), in September 2022 plummetted 21.68% year-on-year (yoy) to IDR 946.85 billion following the fuel and electricity price surge.

Based on the unaudited Financial Report of Q3 2022 of INTP, published yesterday (2/11), this cement manufacturer recorded revenue of IDR 11.66 trillion, shifting 9.9% higher from IDR 10.6 trillion seen in September 2021. However, its costs of revenue were also magnified 17.13% from IDR 7.01 trillion to IDR 8.21 trillion.

Out of said increased costs of revenue, fuel and electricity expenses swelled quite significantly by IDR 1 trillion or 33.37% higher to IDR 3.97 trillion. On top of those, the costs of raw materials also increased 9.97% to IDR 1.59 trillion. Furthermore, the increased financial expenses, combined with decreased operating and financial revenue, managed to cut off its profit before income tax even further to IDR 1.2 trillion in Q3 2022.

Then, in the end, even though the income tax was smaller in this period, the current year’s profit attributable to the parent company dropped 21.68% to IDR 946.85 billion in September 2022 from IDR 1.2 trillion in the third quarter of 2021. (AM/ZH)
