SCMA to cut off capex in 2023

09 November 2022 07:41

JAKARTA. The parent company of SCTV, PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA), will only allocate IDR 200 to 250 billion for its capital expenditure (capex) next year.

Rusmiyati Djajaseputra, Director of Surya Citra Media, claimed that said allocation will be used to establish infrastructures following the mandatory transition from analog TV to digital TV, also known as the analog switch-off (ASO) agenda. SCMA will also utilise the capex to build another studio and its infrastructures, as well as acquiring its broadcasting equipment.

Said capex is obviously smaller compared to this year’s capex budget that has been set to IDR 350 billion. Until the third quarter of 2022, the company had realised IDR 300 billion of it, or approximately 85.71%, as revealed by Djajaseputra and quoted by Bisnis yesterday (8/11).

This year’s capex budget has been utilised to support the analog-to-digital transition, build and upgrade transmission towers, and acquire studio and broadcasting equipment. (AM/ZH)
