DPR: P2SK Bill to optimise financial sector synergy

JAKARTA – The Financial Sector Development and Reinforcement (lit. Pengembangan dan Penguatan Sektor Keuangan/P2SK) Bill is believed to be able to optimise the synergy between vital stakeholders in the financial sector.

Quoting the Discussion Report of Work Committee and Work Meeting with the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, and the Minister of Investment, Bahlil Lahadalia, issued today (12/12), Dolfie Othniel Frederic Palit, the Head of Work Committee of P2SK Bill, claimed that this regulation will enhance collaboration among financial institutions and financial service industry.

According to Palit, who also acts as the Vice Chairman of Commission XI of House of People’s Representatives (DPR), this regulation is said to balance out innovation and consumer protection in the financial sector.

P2SK Bill consists of 27 chapters and 341 articles. The Issue Inventory List (lit. Daftar Inventarisasi Masalah/DIM) of the body of P2SK Bill that has been discussed by the government consists of 6,101 items. Out of those items, 2,376 items are fixation, 958 items are editorial changes, 444 items are substantial changes, 1,412 items are additions, and 892 items are elimination.

Meanwhile, the DIM for P2SK Bill elucidation consists of 2,678 items, comprising 1,316 items of fixation, 190 items of editorial changes, 149 items of substantial changes, 737 items of proposed additions, and 285 items of elimination.

Furthermore, the discussion of the Work Committee of P2SK alongside the government regarding the editorial changes in the DIM of the P2SK Bill body resulted in 912 items from the initial 957 items. (LK/ZH)
